Women’s International War Crimes Tribunal on Japan’s Military Sexual Slavery (Tokyo Tribunal 2000) will take place from December 7-12, 2000 in Tokyo, Japan - around the International Human Rights Day and the last month of the last year of the 20th century. This Tribunal will deal with crimes committed during World War II by Japan against women primarily the former Comfort Women. In conjunction, a one-day Public Hearing will take place on December 11 to highlight current forms of violence against women in armed conflicts. Women's Caucus for Gender Justice acts as a secretariat for this public hearing. The Tokyo Tribunal will indicate to the world that women who have been victimized and women who endeavors to establish a better world will not be stopped in the pursuit of justice.
